KNCad

Rebar detailing software. From structural design to construction drawings.

Draws column, shear wall, beam, slab, stair and foundation reinforcement; labels the bar marks and generates the bar schedule.

  • TBDY 2018 and TS 500 rules
  • Turkish interface
  • Bar marks and schedules included

Inside the concrete

Every bar exactly where it belongs.

Longitudinal bars, stirrups, support reinforcement and slab meshes are placed according to code rules. From concrete cover to hook length, no detail is left to guesswork.

The entire structural system

Foundation to roof, one program.

Columns, shear walls and cores, beams, slabs, stairs and foundations. Each member is detailed by its own rules, and all of them know each other within the same project.

Connection details

The hard spots come solved.

Beam–column joints, confinement zones, lap splices and 135° hooks. The details that raise questions on site are already answered on the sheet.

Stairs

Flights, landings and kinks.

Straight, two-flight, cantilever and circular stairs. The main bars run down the slope, continue through the landing and tie into the slab. Section, plan and reinforcement are drawn together.

Construction drawing

The model becomes a drawing sheet.

Plans, sections, bar developments and bar mark labels are drawn to scale and neatly arranged. The sheet is ready to send to site.

Schedule

Every diameter counted in its own color.

Bar marks are collected in a single table, and weights are calculated diameter by diameter. No separate take-off needed for quotes and orders.

Product

One plugin.
A complete detail sheet.

KNCad installs into your AutoCAD or GstarCAD and comes with its own tab. Open your structural plan, select the member, and let the detail, bar marks and schedule be drawn on the sheet.

In the environment you know

No new program to learn. KNCad sits on your CAD ribbon in its own tab.

The whole list in one go

Select hundreds of members; similar ones are grouped into types, and all are drawn on the sheet at once.

Sheets ready to issue

Sections, bar developments, bar mark labels and the bar schedule are laid out to scale and neatly arranged.

How it works

You decide.
KNCad draws.

Engineering decisions stay with the engineer. The repetitive, lengthy and error-prone drafting moves to the program.

You provide

Structural design

  • Formwork plan and grid lines
  • Member sizes and reinforcement
  • Optionally, an Excel list
KNCad does

Rule-based detailing

  • Confinement zones, laps, hooks and concrete cover
  • Grouping similar members into types
  • Bar mark numbering and length calculation
  • Scaled layout on the sheet
You get

Construction drawing

  • Section, elevation and bar development details
  • Bar mark labels
  • Bar schedule by diameter

Why KNCad

The program handles the drawing.
You keep the time for engineering.

Detailing is the longest and most repetitive task in a project. KNCad puts it on rules and speeds it up.

Fast

Detailing that used to take days progresses across the whole project instead of member by member.

Rule-based

Confinement zones, lap and hook lengths, and concrete cover are defined inside the program.

Consistent

Members of the same type are drawn with the same detail, and their counts go into the schedule automatically.

Familiar

Works inside AutoCAD and GstarCAD, in the drawing environment you already know. Turkish interface.

Members

A dedicated specialist for every member.

You make the engineering decisions. KNCad produces the drawing, the bar marks and the schedule.

Column setting-out

A plan with clean dimensions.

Columns are named and dimensioned to the grid lines. Dimensions are rounded to engineering values, so the plan stays legible.

Column

Every section, every type.

Rectangular and circular columns; columns that start at the foundation, continue, or end at the top floor. The whole list is drawn in one go.

Shear walls and cores

Flange, web, leg.

Shear walls and lift cores are broken down into their parts. Web reinforcement and boundary zones are detailed separately.

Beams and slabs

From support to span.

Longitudinal bars, support reinforcement and stirrups in beams. Bottom and top meshes in slabs, with lap splices on long bars.

Stairs

From straight to spiral.

Section, plan and reinforcement of straight, two-flight, cantilever and circular stairs.

Bar marks and schedule

Change the drawing, the schedule follows.

Bar mark labels are linked to the bars in the drawing; when a length changes, the label and the schedule update. The table gives kilograms per diameter.

The difference

Hand drafting
versus KNCad.

Same project, same engineer. What changes is how the work gets done.

FAQ

Your questions, answered.

What does KNCad do?

It draws the reinforcement details of reinforced concrete structural members: columns, shear walls, beams, slabs and stairs. It labels the bar marks and generates the bar schedule.

Which programs does it work with?

It runs as a plugin inside AutoCAD and GstarCAD. Same interface and same drawing sheets on both platforms.

Will it mess up my existing drawing?

No. KNCad only adds to your drawings on its own layers. Every operation can be undone in a single step.

What if the program gets something wrong?

KNCad is an assistant; the engineer still signs off. The program lists any spots it finds questionable and asks you to check them.

How does licensing work?

The license is tied to the computer. The program shows a machine code, and the license is generated for that code.

Leave the detailing to KNCad.

From structural design to construction drawings in four steps.

  1. Open the project

Open your structural plan in AutoCAD or GstarCAD.

  2. Define the members

Columns are named and dimensions are written on the plan.

  3. Draw the details

Column, shear wall, beam, slab and stair details are placed on the sheet.

  4. Get the schedule

Bar marks are collected and the weight table is added to the sheet.
