What can KNCad do?

KNCad draws the construction details of a reinforced concrete project whose structural analysis is complete. It places column, shear wall, beam, slab, raft, stair and foundation reinforcement according to code rules; it labels the bar marks, generates the bar schedule and prepares the drawing sheet. Engineering decisions stay with the engineer; the program does the long, repetitive drafting.

Column details

The whole column list is detailed in one go.

Longitudinal sections, cross-sections and tie arrangements of rectangular and circular columns are drawn. Confinement zones, lap splices and floor-to-floor transitions are handled by the program. Columns with the same properties are grouped into one type, and the columns in each type are listed.

  • Multi-story columns
  • Section changes
  • Bulk input from an Excel list
  • Type grouping

Column setting-out

A plan, complete with dimensions.

Columns are named on the plan and dimensioned to the grid lines and column faces. Dimensions are placed neatly and legibly, and a column table is added to the plan.

  • Automatic naming
  • Grid line dimensions
  • Column table

Shear walls and cores

Long shear walls and lift cores.

Shear walls and cores are broken down into their parts. Web reinforcement, boundary zones and corner joints are detailed separately; section and elevation are drawn together.

  • Straight, L, U and box sections
  • Boundary zones
  • Openings and coupling beams

Beams

From support to span, every bar with its length.

Beam bar developments and sections are drawn. Support and span reinforcement, stirrup densification zones and bar developments arrive on the sheet with their lengths. Beams can be read in bulk from the formwork plan.

  • Continuous beams
  • Reading from the formwork plan
  • Bar development and bar marks

Slabs

Select the slab, and the reinforcement lands on the plan.

Select slabs, and bottom and top reinforcement areas are created on the plan. Openings, cantilevers and skewed slab panels are recognized. Long bars are split with lap splices; additional bars and welded mesh can be added.

  • Bottom and top reinforcement
  • Opening trimmer bars
  • Additional bars and mesh

Rafts and stepped slabs

Even when the thickness changes, the rebar finds the right path.

Zones of different thickness, pits and steps are recognized. In each zone, the rebar is bent to suit that zone's thickness, runs continuously where it must continue, and laps at the joints. Reinforcement is drawn in the required direction, in plan and section together.

  • Steps and pits
  • Direction-based reinforcement
  • Plan and section together

Stairs

Flights, landings and kinks.

Section, plan and reinforcement of straight, two-flight, cantilever and circular stairs are drawn together. Flights, landings and slab connections join correctly.

  • Four stair types
  • Landing connections
  • Step dimensions and levels

Foundations and special details

Frequently drawn details, ready to go.

Details such as pad and strip footings, retaining and basement walls, lift pits, bond beams and parapets are drawn by entering their dimensions. Column starter bars are anchored correctly into the foundation.

  • Foundations
  • Retaining and basement walls
  • Lift pit, bond beam, parapet

Quick editing and revisions

No need to redraw for a change.

The diameter or spacing of drawn reinforcement, or the slab thickness, can be changed afterward. The rebar is placed again; labels and the schedule update automatically. Bar mark labels stay linked to the bars in the drawing.

  • Diameter, spacing, thickness
  • Linked bar mark labels
  • Schedules always up to date

Bar marks and schedules

Every diameter counted on its own row.

All bar marks in the drawing are collected in a single table, and weights are calculated diameter by diameter. The order list and the cutting list for the rebar shop come out without separate preparation.

  • Kilograms by diameter
  • Order list
  • Rebar shop output

Sheet

Details are laid out neatly on the sheet.

Details are distributed across drawing sheets to scale; the title block, sheet number and bar schedule are added. The resulting sheet is ready to send to site.

  • Scaled layout
  • Title block and numbering
  • Formwork and level plans

Code pre-check

Rules are reviewed before drawing.

Basic detailing rules from TS 500 and TBDY 2018 are checked. Points that don't comply are listed and marked on the plan. The engineer makes the final call.

  • Reinforcement ratios
  • Spacing and confinement
  • Warning list

Licensing and updates

One-file setup, automatic updates.

KNCad is added to AutoCAD or GstarCAD with a single installer. The license is registered to the computer. New versions arrive signed over the internet and take effect the next time you start the program; no manual file copying needed.

  • Single-file installation
  • Automatic updates
  • AutoCAD and GstarCAD

In every module

In the environment you know, with the same layout.

Inside CAD

KNCad sits in its own tab on the AutoCAD and GstarCAD ribbon. No new program to learn.

Turkish interface

Dialogs, warnings and sheet text are in Turkish. The language of drawing text can be selected separately.

Project settings

Diameters, concrete cover, scale and layer setup are set once, and every detail follows them.

Smart rebar

Every bar drawn knows what it is. Selecting, editing, copying and counting become easy.

Leave the detailing to KNCad.

Let us show you on your own project: column, shear wall, beam, slab, raft and stair details from the same plan.
