Why KNCad?

In a reinforced concrete project, the job isn't done when the structural analysis is complete. To take the design to site, every member's reinforcement detail has to be drawn, given bar marks and scheduled. This is the longest and most repetitive part of a project, and also where mistakes are made most often.

KNCad was born from that need. Our goal is to let engineers spend their time on engineering decisions instead of repetitive drafting. The engineer sets the section, the reinforcement and the levels; KNCad produces the detail, the bar marks and the schedule.

How we work

The rules are built in. Confinement zones, stirrup spacing, concrete cover, and hook and lap lengths are calculated according to code principles. The program doesn't guess; when it sees an ambiguous situation, it asks the user or issues a warning.

The engineer decides. KNCad is an assistant. The engineer still signs off; the program only takes on the repetitive work and brings questionable situations to light.

A familiar environment. The program runs inside AutoCAD and GstarCAD. Your team doesn't need to change the drawing environment it's used to.

Drawings built for the site. Details are drawn to be read on the construction site: to scale, neatly arranged, with clear bar mark labels. Bar lengths are rounded to values that can be applied on site.
