Schedules and bar marks

Bar marks and rebar schedules

Every bar gets a bar mark, and every bar mark goes into the schedule. Change the drawing, and the schedule changes too.

Bar mark labels

Every bar in a detail has a bar mark number, diameter, count and length. KNCad writes this information on the bar mark labels. Labels are linked to the bars in the drawing: when a bar's length changes, the length on the label and the schedule update too. Manually edited bar marks are locked, and the program won't change them.

Bar schedule

All bar marks in the project are collected in a single table. The table gives the total length and weight for each diameter. Rebar weights are calculated from the square of the diameter; for example, about 0.617 kg per meter for Φ10 and about 2.466 kg for Φ20. For details, see our rebar weight table article.

  • Breakdown by member type
  • Table placed on the sheet
  • Data that's exportable to Excel

Length rounding

Bar lengths are rounded up to the next 5 centimeters. The cutting list is prepared with values that can be applied on site, and the schedule comes closer to reality.

FAQ

Can the bar schedule be edited?

The table is generated from the bar marks. When a bar mark changes, just regenerate the table; no manual corrections needed.
